  • What should I be looking for in a hand sanitiser?

You should always check your hand sanitiser has been approved to the correct European Norms (standards). This ensures the product has been laboratory tested to kill the Bacteria and Viruses it says it will.

Viricidal Activity: If the hand sanitiser is approved to EN 14476 it has been accredited with full viricidal activity. This included enveloped viruses like the corona group of viruses.

Bactericidal Activity: Hand sanitisers approved to EN 13727, EN 1500, EN 12791 & EN 14348 are proven to kill 99.999% of Bacteria and Mycobacteria.

Blitz Spirit has been tested and approved to all the above standards and will kill 99.99% of Bacteria and Viruses.

  • What standards is Blitz Spirit approved to?

Blitz Spirit is approved for used in the following areas:

    • Hygienic Hand Rub: European standards- EN 13727, EN 1500, EN 13624, EN 14348, EN 14476
    • Surgical/ Medical: European standards- EN 13727, EN 12791, EN 13624, EN 14348
    • Food, Industrial, Domestic and Institutional areas (FIDI): European standards- EN 13727, EN 1500, EN 1650
    • Veterinary: European standards- EN 1500, EN 13727

  • Why should I pick Blitz Spirit?

Blitz Spirit is tried and tested, it has been approved to European Norms and is proven to kill 99.99% of viruses and 99.999% of Bacteria and Mycobacteria. The formula has also been used in hospitals and health centers since 2010.

Blitz Spirit has a non sticky, liquid formula that flows in to hard to reach areas of the hands (such as under the fingernails) and dries without leaving behind a sticky film or residue. It is also fragrance and dye free, and contains Panthenol hand softeners. This greatly reduced the risk of reactions on sensitive skin and makes it ideal for prolonged periods of use without drying out the hands.

  • Why is it a Liquid not a Gel?

Firstly, Gels have the limitation that they can not as freely flow in to all the nooks and crannies that a liquid sanitiser can such as the area around and under the fingernails.

Secondly due to the high alcohol content of this sanitising formula (91% of the volume) there is less room to include gelling agents. If these where to be included the alcohol content would be reduced, as would its effectiveness.

  • Why doesn’t Blitz Spirit use a spray nozzle?

Firstly, and most importantly there is a safety consideration when turning a light liquid into a vapour through a spray nozzle. Air bone particles can be easily breathed in, if in an enclosed environment such as a car. This could lead to respiratory issues or respiratory distress in people with underlying health problems.

Secondly using a spray nozzle will limit the amount of liquid that is dispersed on to the surface of the skin. To be used effectively, 3ml of Blitz Spirit should be wet on the hands for at least 30 seconds. When using a spray nozzle it takes many pumps to get 3ml of fluid on to the hands and ensure they remain wet for the full 30 seconds. Instead, it is much easier and more effective to pour the formula out by a spout.

  • How long will Blitz Spirit last?

Blitz Spirit, Professional Grade, Hand Sanitiser has a self life of 24 months from the date of manufacture.

  • How should I be using it?

Blitz Spirit can be used anywhere that high hygienic standards are required.

For General use: Apply 3ml of the solution to clean hands. Rub all over the hands, ensuring they remain wet for 30 seconds. Do no rinse hands once dry.

For Healthcare Professionals: Apply the solution to clean hands. Rub all over the hands, ensuring they remain wet for 60 to 90 seconds. Do not rinse hands once dry.

  • Why the branding?

Its unique retro branding harks back to the 1940’s when Briton’s displayed stoicism and determination in the face of adversity.

In this time the V for Victory became a symbol of unity across Europe and helped to unite the British people during the darkest days of WW2. Winston Churchill made the V sign famous, using it whenever a camera was pointed at him, palms facing in both directions. This dismayed the private secretary John Colville who wrote, “The PM will give the V sign with two fingers in spite of the representations repeatedly made to him that this gesture has quite another significance”.

Churchill was eventually persuaded to use the gesture with his palm facing forwards.
