Unlike methylated spirits or isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, EkoFuel's Fuel for Alcohol Camping Stoves is was formulated for the purpose of cooking or boiling water using an alcohol stove.

Alcohol stoves are popular among campers as they are lightweight, incredibly reliable, eco-friendly and easy to make or replace on the fly.

Trangia and Esbit stoves are the most popular commercial alcohol stoves and EkoFuel has been tested thoroughly with both commercial and home-made alcohol stoves. To our knowledge, EkoFuel is the only bioethanol fuel developed specifically as a camping stove or trangia fuel.

This fuel has a low carbon footprint and is much more eco-friendly than gas cannisters and burning wood. The CO2 that is released while the fuel is burning is equal to the amount of CO2 that the plants absorb from the atmosphere while growing.
